Windrose releases all of its Chinese patents and patent applications to the public. Anyone may practise the inventions and designs they cover, for any purpose, without payment and without asking. This page is the licence.
All patents and patent applications filed in the People’s Republic of China by Anhui Windrose Holdings Co., Ltd. (安徽苇渡控股有限公司) or Shanghai Windrose Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. (上海苇渡汽车科技有限公司), namely:
The ten granted invention patents are described, with their official drawings, on the Granted Patents page. A full list of the Covered Patents by application number is available on request from legal@windrose.ai.
Under the Covered Patents, Windrose grants to every person and entity an irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to make, have made, use, sell, offer for sale, import, repair and otherwise dispose of products and services, and to practise any method they claim. Windrose covenants not to assert any Covered Patent against anyone for doing so.
This pledge binds Anhui Windrose Holdings Co., Ltd., Shanghai Windrose Automotive Technology Co., Ltd., their affiliates and successors, and every later owner of a Covered Patent. Windrose will transfer a Covered Patent only subject to this pledge and will record the pledge in any assignment.
Windrose keeps the Covered Patents registered and pays the annuities. The registrations exist so that nobody else can patent the same inventions and designs; they no longer give Windrose exclusivity. Windrose may also record this licence with the China National Intellectual Property Administration as an open licence declaration under Articles 50 to 52 of the PRC Patent Law.
The licence and covenant do not extend to any party that asserts a patent or design right against Windrose, its affiliates or a user of a Windrose product in relation to electric vehicles or their components. For such a party the licence ends on the date of that assertion.
The Covered Patents are licensed as they are. Windrose gives no warranty that practising them is free of third-party rights, and grants no licence under any right other than the Covered Patents. Nothing in this pledge limits rights a person already has under law.
Technology leadership is not defined by keeping every document behind a wall, but by how fast the whole industry can move together. The first-generation Windrose truck, its manuals, technical reference, bill of materials and 3D CAD are already published under Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 and Apache-2.0 on windrose.ai/how-to-service-manuals and GitHub. Releasing the patents removes the last barrier to using them.
自 2026 年 9 月 19 日起，安徽苇渡控股有限公司与上海苇渡汽车科技有限公司将其在中国申请的全部专利及专利申请向公众开放：截至 2026 年 7 月台账已授权的 212 项专利（发明 10 项、实用新型 99 项、外观设计 103 项）、98 项在审发明申请及其后续授权，以及上述专利的分案、继续与复审。
苇渡向任何人授予不可撤销、永久、全球、免费、非独占的许可，可制造、委托制造、使用、销售、许诺销售、进口、维修上述专利所涵盖的产品与方法，并承诺不就上述专利向任何人主张权利。专利注册将继续维持并缴纳年费，以防止他人就相同技术取得独占权；苇渡亦可依《专利法》第五十条至五十二条向国家知识产权局办理开放许可声明。
不在开放范围内：美国外观专利 D1,104,863、D1,104,865（Windrose Technology, Inc. 持有）；WINDROSE 名称、文字商标、叶子标志及其他商标；第三方（含供应商）的专利；由比利时公司 Windrose Holdings Limited NV / Windrose Technology Antwerp NV 为第三代车型（Mega 960）创造的知识产权。对就电动汽车向苇渡或其用户主张专利权的一方，本许可自其主张之日起终止。以英文版为准。
